You were wrong
I get such satisfaction in knowing
I was right…
And you- well,
You were wrong.
You totally misread everything
You totally took me for granted
You totally used me up
And then wadded me up
And tossed me aside like
A piece of trash.
You were wrong.
I win!
I was right all along about you
And about us
And about, well,
Forgive my arrogance,
But-
Everything.
It doesn’t matter whether you see it
Or not
Whether the truth is obvious
Or not
Whether
You understand everything the way I do
Or not
Because
That is all superfluous.
You.were.wrong.
I was right.
And as I sit here
Alone
At my desk
Writing this ode to your fallibility
I can’t help but wonder
Exactly what it is I win
For being right
And just why on Earth you seem
Perfectly happy
Being wrong.
Win, Win
