A chronicle of where I've been, where I'm at, and where I'm going.

just.another.day.

october second, twenty ten
just.another.day.
another saturday, matter of fact
there are days like these all our lives
ordinary
unspectacular
days
our world seems, well, itself
on days like these
we get up
have breakfast
do our thing
just.another.day.

the weight of words defines this saturday
(bearing in mind
extraordinary people still do
amazing things
on ordinary days)
concrete.
well-defined
words.
pages and pages —
volumes
of words.
like
just [juhst] -adverb: only or merely
another [uh-nuhth-er] -adjective: being one more or more of the same
day [dey] -noun: the interval of light two successive nights; the time between sunrise and sunset

then there are sundays.
steak for breakfast, sure
but just.another.day.
more words
flickering on a screen this time
(bearing in mind
extraordinary people still get
blindsided
on ordinary days)
words that make saturday
seem like a daydream
cruel words.
(words are very fickle that way)
uncooperative words
ruining a weekend
a lifetime
dreams.
families.
words.unraveling.a.lie.
reality sticks its finger in the bubble
& it blows up all over your face
suddenly saturday is the distant past
untouchable
gone forever
just.another.day.
